One of the things that makes baseball so special is how generations of fans have grown up going the same ballpark as their parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents.

We think someday, we’ll bring our own children to our ballpark, sit in the same old seats, and tell them stories about the incredible moments we saw there when we were their age. We’ll watch them take in the majesty and fall in love with the game, just as our parents once watched us do the same.

That’s what baseball is: tradition,
family, the thread of magic linking generations.

That’s what John Fisher has stolen from Oakland A’s fans.

Pro sports rely on the emotional connection between team and fan. It's a pact. The fan buys in, caring deeply about 26 souls wearing the same laundry. The fan makes it all matter, makes it mean something.
