If I die before my cats, please bring them to smell and see my body. Cats understand life & death, I don’t want them to ever think I abandoned them.
fucks me up that alastor Knows he can surrender himself to vox, be a brat, run his mouth and bruise his ego, and nothing truly bad would come of it. even when vox says he’ll slit his throat they both laugh about it. al knew he was never truly at threat. until he was.
Alastor’s relationship to his gender is based less on his incredibly “masculine” archetype, a hunter, serial killer, overlord, etc. - he doesn’t perform masculinity in the traditional sense, likely out of a distain for labels or roles, as we see with his need to break out of hierarchies. Much of his characterization draws from radio hosts, vaudeville performers, men whose identities were often built around charm, fashion, performance, etiquette, and social grace.
Alastor exists in a space where violence, elegance, and performance all play into his role as the radio demon, as a character who feels gender nonconforming, because he appears completely uninterested in the rules governing it.
the concept of alastor’s deer ears being a form of hellish punishment since they give away his true emotions in spite of his ever present smile. a permanent crack in the mask he spent his life perfecting. hell really loves to mock him.
one of my most random unimportant questions i have from season 1
how did alastor manage to get the hotel’s commercial on air without 1. Vox’s permission and 2. without him knowing?? did he like infiltrate a channel somehow? did someone owe him a favor? or did he just.. do that
