My mom and sister had to put down my childhood cat last night and it was the hardest thing i’ve had to watch across a FaceTime because I couldn’t be there for it physically. Her name was Cali, cali for calico or california.

My mom, who struggles with her own care, felt she couldn’t give her what she needed and provide for her the way she wanted. Both the rough last day and combination of not being able to care for her to the best of her ability was why she was put down. 2/2

For anyone curious: she was roughly 18-19 years old. On her last day, She started showing signs of blindness, hence the decision made. She was going through kidney failure and severe arthritis in her joints prior. She often threw up a few times a day as well. 1/2
