@FadetoEx @Larchwood20 Everything is. That messaging is at the core of everything we've heard all our lives. Rings very hollow when you see how much manipulation they do to keep everyone inside the confirmation bubble. The fact that they've created these accounts now demonstrates a renewed focus... 🤔

@pimitopomo It shows how bereft they are of deep ideas, even by their own definition. 100+ years of playing the same 'end is nigh' tune gets tired. They've given up trying to develop new reasoning. They'd realise that they know far less now than what they thought they did 10 or 20 years ago.

@Larchwood20 It also shows that modern marriage isn't actually biblical at all. Marriage has always been a religious/cultural ceremony. The notion that a creator may have designed humans to have a single partner may be correct, but to say what we call marriage is of divine origin is a stretch

@pimitopomo That's just mind-blowing. 🤯 The whole organisation has just become a mess. No-one inside (at least at the r&f level) looks at it holistically. Add it all up. Legal actions & tactics + 'gb has decided' changes in long held standards + narrative control + this nonsense = 🫟😣

@Larchwood20 @smitch2010 Clearly demonstrating they've lost control of the PR narrative & are belatedly trying to get it back. The internet is proving problematic for 'god's channel' because they don't get to keep their internal dysfunction behind closed doors anymore. It must be impacting numbers 🤔

@Larchwood20 That midweek announcement sounds very much like an admission that there will be two narratives - one for insiders & one for out. How they rationalise that ongoing, and how much scrutiny the external narrative gets from r&f jws will be very interesting. (Probably none)

@pimitopomo It does demonstrate how 'out of character' the decision is. The timing is bizarre, as is the choice of platforms. There's an obvious public image drive taking place by hq. It feels desperate.

@pimitopomo It's marketing, pure & simple. Find a problem they don't know they had, or in jws case, think there's no solution to. Present a solution but make yourself the gatekeeper of it. Lure them into a series of small steps focused on the bait until they're caught by sunk cost fallacy.

@miss_usato Yeah despite the fact these decisions are a blow to those who've been damaged by an upbringing in a blatant high control religion, they primarily demonstrate the role that 'christianity' plays in controlling western govts & culture. Freedom of religion is a self-servicing con 😔

@CultWisDumb Way back in the day, I remember giving this book to an rv, and the next time back they gave it back to me, saying it wasn't appropriate for children. It's amazing what we became conditioned to accept. It was a horrible book, & genuinely didn't paint god in a favourable light. 😔

@pimitopomo @GageFleegleGB I remember a news item on the jw_org site a few years back from Russia, with a photo of a jw family with Putin. 🤯 It's probably not there anymore, and I hate going on to that site at all. But I was pretty blown away when I saw it at the time. Brazen attempt at appeasement.

@miss_usato Any reasonable person sees through the duplicity. But the law doesn't truly intend to, which makes this a sad but unsurprising decision. And most jws don't see it because they actively avoid looking, having been programmed to reject anything negative. Again, sad but inevitable 😔
