A11pl3Z, spotted July 1, 2025, by ATLAS in Chile, is likely the third interstellar object to visit our solar system, following ‘Oumuamua and Borisov. It’s currently 3.8 AU from Earth, 4.8 AU from the Sun, near Jupiter’s orbit, and faint at magnitude +18, needing large telescopes to view. It’ll reach perihelion on October 29, 2025, at 1.35 AU, passing Mars closely on October 3 at 0.2 AU and Earth on October 30 at 1.35 AU, posing no threat. Roughly 20 km wide, it shows no cometary activity, suggesting it’s asteroid-like. Its high eccentricity (~6) confirms its interstellar origin. Observatories like James Webb are studying it for insights into other star systems. Watch it live via Virtual Telescope Project’s webTV on July 3, 2025, at 22:00 UTC. https://t.co/BFoTHXdgYb
