1️⃣ Intro

Algebra is a DEX engine that enables anyone to create its own DEX. Their numbers:

• 27 DEXs integrated, including @ThenaFi_, @QuickswapDEX and @CamelotDEX 🏦

• Max 24h trading volume: $679M 📈

- V4 AMMs

V4 AMMs use the concept of concentrated liquidity (V3) and make their pools more efficient and completely customizable.

Key features 👇

• Singleton contract: In V3, each pool is stored in a different smart contract, but V4 stores every pool in a single contract, meaning fewer expenses for multi-hop swaps.

• Flash accounting: A system that allows users to chain together multiple actions, for example swapping and adding liquidity, reducing the costs to perform multiple transactions.

• Hooks: They are the biggest V4 feature, by far. Hooks are customizable, modular smart contract functions that allow developers to modify and extend the behavior of liquidity pools.

The most notable V4s—Uniswap and PancakeSwap—are set to launch in Q4 2024.

☝️ However, Algebra has taken the lead in the V4 space by launching its "Integral", making it the first (and currently only) live V4 protocol.

2️⃣ Algebra Integral

Integral is Algebra’s spin on V4 where they provide the V4 functions as an infrastructure for others to create unique DEXs through Plugins.

Plugins work similarly to UniswapV4 hooks. They're addons to the pools and can change the pools mechanics.

👉 The key difference is that plugins are not permanent, the DEXs can add or remove plugins from their pools.

👉 Algebra doesn't use the Singleton contract. While the multihop swaps are cheaper, the liquidity stored in the single smart contract is more vulnerable to exploits.

While V4 Uniswap and Pancakeswap are in the works, you can build the first V4 DEX with unique features and play with the plugins that can make you stand out.

3️⃣ Brokkr’s plugins

We partnered with Algebra to build the first plugins for their DEXs. We've just finished the work on the first plugin that lets users lock their liquidity for increased LP incentives, a mechanic all degens got used to in V2 pools.

We are working on other plugins together with the DEXs and these will come next: Order book and limit orders, KYC, ALM (liquidity management), and dynamic fees.

Besides the plugin we’ve been building for Algebra Integral, we also developed the following POC Hooks for Uniswap V4:
