This tax sounds Federal, so all Americans benefit - not just people living close to data centers, is that right? So you thinking direct payments, like AI tax stimmy checks?

But utilities are local. And they all have different Meters, different rate tariffs, diff policies. So it would take some coordination to accurately gather the correct data in a uniform method across all utilities.

There’s an added layer of complexity if this payment only goes to utility customers as then you have to prove - are they an actual utility customer? Are they not a duplicate? Have they moved? all kinds of KYC and customer tracking required…

but if AI can help us solve the paperwork, this could be a great program!
