A few weeks ago, my husband and I lost a pregnancy. The physical toll was something not even my doctor prepared me for.
The standard of care for women’s pain is medieval. We don’t need to agree on everything to agree this should be better.
Not enough people talk about Katy Yaroslavsky’s ability to appeal to voters across the spectrum. Mods and progs and prolly some wingers, something that has become increasingly more valuable in politics across the land…
As Californians it really is a gift to get @Elex_Michaelson covering state politics in a way I’ve never seen before on a national program. I feel really lucky to be able to contribute to it.
Here’s my clip from tonight. Gov race, LA Mayor, and the #CD6 race.
Ossoff: Last September, the President of Kazakhstan calls Donald Trump and says he wants to grant tungsten mining rights to an American company. And the very next month, Eric and Don Jr. get a stake in the American company pursuing the mining deal.
Six days later, six days after Prince Eric and Prince Don get their stake, Kazakhstan announces this company will get, “The largest known undeveloped tungsten resource in the world.” A few more weeks go by, and then the U.S. government, run by their father, sets aside 1.6 billion of your tax dollars to fund and finance their mining project. In Kazakhstan.
All this while you pay more for gas, for groceries, for health care, and that's just the tip of the iceberg.
Not only is @TraciParkforLA well ahead of her opponent, she has more votes than any council candidate in any race. Second is @KatyForLA in CD 5 with 30,956.
Park has pulled more votes in her district than @AdamMillerLA has citywide—he's at 21,607, according to @LACountyRRCC .
LA voters! Want to know where City Council District 5 candidate @KatyForLA stands on reforming City Hall?

This is the first time the City of Los Angeles has formally endorsed @CAYIMBY sponsored legislation.
Katy authored the support resolutions for AB 1903 and AB 1070, and seconded the resolution for AB 1406, which was authored by Adrin Nazarian.
Today, the LA City Council voted to endorse three bills sponsored by @cayimby: AB 1903, AB 1406, and AB 1070.
These bills will make it easier to build homes in LA that people can actually afford to own.
@tobyhardtospell@WestsideForEv@tobyhardtospell I agree with you 99% of the time. But not here. I have found @CD5LosAngeles to be extremely pro housing given her time on the council. I was the lawyer on 1050 La Cienega - she was nothing but fair and properly deferential to state law. Approved as proposed!
Finally, I’m just going to leave this here because I think it’s important to remember that Katy has stood up repeatedly to NIMBYs, faced a recall for it, and built housing anyway.
1 -> 11 homes in LA
Super proud of the work @PaulSteidl and our @BuildCasa team are doing to bring infill stater homes to great neighborhoods where people want to live like this project in Echo Park.
Because of SB1123, this project is by right with a 60 day permitting shot clock. Even better, this project keeps the existing home and mirrors the historic zone look from the street.
