I did it, I’m now a qualified mental health nurse 😭😭 going back to do my final placement at the same hospital I was a patient in was one of the hardest things I’ve done but I feel like I’ve come full circle 😭😭
Things I excel at: waking up and going to the toilet during the night and then remaining awake, unable to go back to sleep, for the next hour and a half 🫠
Work today was a team day- team building games (shudder), a couple of work related talks (including a talk from a pharma company on a sleep med- the talk itself was enough to put us to sleep), free lunch, a yin yoga class, then a few of us went for pizza 😀 happy Friday!
The fine line between staying well informed about the ever declining social and political climate and keeping just enough distance so you don’t lose your mind or kill yourself
In the UK, sitting peacefully opposing genocide is deemed terrorism whilst burning houses, rioting and targeting minority groups is considered ‘protest’
Two things can be true at the same time.
Thing 1: the attack in Belfast was unspeakably horrific and absolutely horrendous.
Thing 2. Masked men burning down houses with children still inside is really awful and should be condemned.
It's not complicated.
This is the most I’ve done in my three day weekend and I feel ‘relieved’ that I can now sit and read for the rest of the evening before back to work tomorrow. I hate it???
Embarrassing, but genuinely curious if I am just lazy or is it ~mental health that makes doing a few ‘simple’ things (gym, coffee, picking up a few groceries, changing bed sheets, tidying my room, shower) feel like a fairly ‘busy’ day 🫠

Weirdly enjoy finishing the work week off with the gym/a walk/run?? I also actually COOKED afterwards, so I’m feeling extra productive. Have opened a bottle of cider and I am looking forward to an evening under my electric blanket with a book 😌
I know sleep scores are not an accurate representation of how you’ve slept, but this week they’ve been a bare faced lie…Monday night, when I slept *terrible* my score was 81 and ‘restorative’. Last night, when I thought I slept not too bad, it was 57 and ‘poor quality’??? 🤷🏼♀️
@Smurf_Health No I guess it’s bc with private the individual themselves is paying thousands, so doctors are more likely to be swayed to give the dx the person is wanting assessment for. NHS they get paid a wage regardless, not from an individual, so they’re more likely to be objective
@Smurf_Health I’m a nurse and some of my doctor colleagues over the years have said private dx (for mental health anyways) isn’t always an objective assessment bc people are paying sometimes thousands for a diagnosis, so it’s generally then just ‘given’ to them
Girl at work called me Audrey Hepburn when I came into the office this morning wearing my sunglasses and vintage style skirt 💃🏼 (she did also, at a later stage, say I looked like Sportacus from Lazy Town)
