We are in the thick of spring sports- and excellent performances come from proper nutrition.
Pack a cooler or lunch bag.
Sip those drinks to eliminate the slosh.

No, it’s not the two, 25-30 minute weight room sessions a week where athletes encounter force in a controlled environment hurting your volleyball player’s back.
It’s the:
-10+ hours a week of practice with bad mechanics on bad surfaces
-Random running
-No days off mentality
-Lack of nutrition and sleep to facilitate recovery
But go on and get that 2 weeks no weight room full go on court note as the injury carousel takes another turn.
Our NU T&F girls team finally got a meet in last night at Spirit Lake, new school record for Alexis in the 3000 with a time of 12:02, SHR got 3rd in 1:14.9, 4x1 & 4x4 had good nights running 55.27 & 4:34.6 respectively, on to North Iowa Thursday #BeAWarrior
Track & field is one of the last places in a school where the football captain, the valedictorian, the band kid, the wrestler, and the quiet kid who never thought he belonged can all wear the same jersey.
Track does not care what a kid’s last name is, how much money he has, what side of town he lives on, or how popular he is. Out here, none of that matters. Somewhere between the workouts, the bus rides, and the meets, kids who might never have spoken to each other start to build real respect.
It is hard not to respect somebody when you have seen what they are willing to push through and how much they are willing to give.
That is a big reason track & field will always mean more to me than just times, marks, and points.
