PRESS CONFERENCE: Bussing crisis in Renfrew County!

Education leaders from across Renfrew County are calling out the Ford government’s lack of funding for school transportation, which has created a crisis in Renfrew County as there are NO SCHOOL BUSES for students so far this school year.

Standing in front of MPP John Yakabuski’s office, the Presidents of Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) LOCALS 1247 and 1321, Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO) Renfrew County, Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association (OECTA) Renfrew Unit, and Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF/FEESO) District 28 demand that the Ford government provide sufficient funding to all school boards to address the increased costs of bussing in #RenfrewCounty.

@CP24 Can someone please ask Dr. Moore: when he plans to end daily "required confirmation" of covid screening for kids to enter their schools? How is this requirement even helpful? Why was it made indefinite? Why are only some school boards implementing it?

@Jusstadad @Sflecce I got an email from the Director of our school board today. He said he asked the Deputy Minister of Education directly who said the directive sits with the #CMOH for #Ontario. My husband called the MOH and got Dr. Moore's email and asked him. No response. Asking since Feb 9th.
