“Our whole culture of CLEATS... What that means is to be where your feet are. Cleats in the ground. Be where your feet are. The next play is the most important play, and that’s gotta be the way that we live.”
Coach Coen on our “next play” mentality.
I love this. The best piece of advice any sports psych gave me was “be where your feet are” it’s easier said than done. The days I was able to do it I performed my best and the days I do it now are usually my happiest. A great lesson that transcends the football field into everyday life.
Gonna try to take tmrw off this site, this week has been so dark, but the one story I always look back on every 9/11 is the Man in the red bandana.
Welles Crowther, going up and down the World Trade Center stairs helping people escape. Welles sacrificed everything to help others.
I try to think what is one even slightly helpful thing I can do, or a small good I can do, that would be even just a decimal as good as what Welles did. How can we all do something that Welles would've done?
Marcus Freeman said, "You waste time daydreaming about an uncertain future. Who cares?"
"The future is uncertain. So focus on being the best version of you today."
No one wins tomorrow.
They win today - one rep, one habit at a time.

Young guards should study old tape of Kendall Marshall
Amazing how many guards over dribble
Hit the ball ahead, incentivize teammates to run hard, make perfect passes
Being a point guard is not as simple as dribbling the ball down the floor
I just heard that applications for JP Morgan's $JPM summer 2026 investment banking internships go live the first week of January 2025...this means students need to decide what they are going to do after Junior year, when they are only halfway through their Sophomore year. When I went through the process (JPM IB), applications went live late first semester (Q4) of Junior year, ~6 months in advance vs. the current ~18 months in advance. This is crazy.
While there is merit to focus / specialization, young people need the ability to explore.
Got a text from Pedro Arruza July 28, 2019.
Randoff-Macon College has been a Sprint-Based 🏈 program ever since. During that time, their record is 47-5.

If it didn’t win, it wouldn’t be a thing.
His jersey number lets me know he rushed for about 600 yards his sophomore year of HS before his coaches convinced him his future was having his hand in the dirt
I honestly believe college basketball means more in this red line than any other part of the country. You see dominance of the sport this close to eachother nowhere else in the country. You could make the argument that the two most passionate fanbases in CBB are in this area
The fact that Marquise Williams is 13th on UNC football all time rushing yardage leaders as a QB is testament to just how good he was. A Tarheel 🏈 legend that isn’t talked about near enough @1MjWilliams2 ❗
