telling my family i like fantasy books and then immediately having to say “NOT the elf fucking kind” before they all get me a court of thorns and roses for christmas
@seulsbit i love it!!! i did high school english then elementary special education then elementary literacy intervention. i’m becoming a literacy coach in the fall so i can help teachers NOT get burned out. it’s HARD but it’s worth it :)
@seulsbit@oceana_roll yeah i’ve been doing it for 13 years and seen a LOT of people do it as just a job and they’re gone the next year BUT there are some people who do realize they have a lot of passion for it
@Imfullofdoubt@oceana_roll ah you’re right - I interpreted “human bodies” as dealing with their organs/blood etc rather than meaning “working with people” but good point
@oceana_roll teaching/anything in public education like aides or paeas. the pay isn’t good but there’s a huge shortage and there will always be teaching jobs.
committing seppuku (ritual suicide) with my wakizashi (small sword) because I failed my daimyo (feudal lord) by crashing his Nissan Pulsar (untranslatable)
i just got a great job with a gobbledygook title (literacy facilitator which means “teacher coach.”) i’m happy but less funny. moving to charlotte over the summer. here’s chicken biscuit in the sunshine.
the tiny podunk county school system that i teach in was featured on libs of tiktok last week which is an absolutely insane thing that i can’t talk to anybody i teach with about.
3rd grade student this morning told me “I realized the other day that north carolina is a really important state because we have the Panthers.” thats right little buddy. keep that in your heart forever.
