To the gentleman posting to boo the AD at the game: IMO
I sat and watched most every major donor, fans and many many coaches walk up to brian and check on him and see how he was doing. Fans and coaches gave him grace and told him they appreciated him. As he put himself out there vulnerably and did his job today. He did not hide, he showed up in spite of the drama. I heard no one boo in the crowd or to his face. Great to meet Marc Hill also. Looks like a great hire
Travis Hansen on the other hand was in the corner of the sidelines didn’t see much action there. Everyone knows what Travis did leaking to Dick Harmon and I believe his time at university will be short lived. Especially if donors demand he is out for the leak and drama.
Still disappointed in the Admin for letting it get this far, should have been resolved internally … cant see changes happening fast enough with transparency or fixes happening to prevent a repeat in the future
So allocation of funds or resources would actually have been in the purview / scope of Travis... Got it. Guidelines are the rules of the game. if you have rule violations Im sure the NCAA would love to see them. Brian also hired him and they were once good friends. I think the major donors are behind Brian and are going to go after Hansen as he has been toxic creating drama with Dick Harmon. No matter how you look at it. That was bad and will come back to bite him.
Ok .. Fair enough on Leaked. I will use the word SMEAR. That is more fitting. The statements about NIL and Rev share were not accurate (see posts). Infact Travis was over NIL deals per the website so is he saying he did not do his own job? Im not bothered by Brian. I think we are in the best position athletically we have ever been because of his, Tom's and the entire athletic depts hard work over the last 20+ years. He may not be everyones favorite person. But the results speak for themselves
I agree. But speculation does not help either. The University wont play in the gray and risk being made an example of. Im sure the Football program would take any donation for NIL you can do if you feel they are not being treated fairly. I can only go off of facts / guidelines. And Yes other universities risk it all by spending large and playing in gray areas.
He was fired by Santiago and he has told multiple people that have gone to the administration that he is going to Bury the athletic Director. All of this drama started after that. Dick Harmon went on tv saying that he has it on good authority that Brian Santiago is going to be fired. 100% Not what I saw today in the top donor room.
Hansen is no longer with the athletic department. He has been hanging out with Coach and football. He was over NIL deals and was replaced by Marc Hill.. NIL was not paid before by the university. That is revenue share in which football is getting 70+ percent.. NIL is tied to corporations and donors. Which no one can really control but if a coach has a good player, there is an avenue in which they can find money to pay them. It has to be cleared through Deloitte as a legit deal. AJ was a real easy one. I’m sure the new running back legend would be easy also.
I think if you look at who he hired as coaches you may think differently. By the way… He’s been the assistant athletic Director for 20 years. You don’t have to bash on the AD to be supportive of the football coach. They are all part of the same university and “team” We all love him. Just don’t like the drama that was created.
Very sad, Travis was great! Don’t know what happened and what changed, He and Santiago used to be very good friends and Brian hired him. Unfortunate that it has come to this. He should probably bow out quietly. people are upset over the vendetta and Harmon things and it’s going to get ugly. Please save us all from the drama.
You are entitled to that. But it would be pretty crazy to be up in every sport across the board by coincidence. There are times things happen in spite of someone but we’ve never seen something like this. Number one draft pick in basketball ! football projected to be in the playoffs or better. Track, women’s basketball, soccer. Golf. Everything looks pretty good. Lots of good hires unfortunately also a bad one that’s causing drama.
@npaintedhufhinz OK. Just for clarification am I the brother that is a Mission president in Uruguay or the one that owns cupbop, communal and pizzeria 712?
@mhop_19 Same 6-8 accounts bagging on the AD… it must be hard to be negative all the time. And argue with the reality of good results.. 😘 bless your heart
