Great to get the 2023 MBA diving season up and running with @TritoniaDiving today with some refresher training and safety drills. A lovely 8 degC and rainy above the water and 10 degC and 2 m viz in the water. 🥶 😭 🥶 😭 🌊 🤿

Despite blowing a hooley in Plymouth Sound 💨 ☔️ we still managed to complete a vessel familiarisation and skill refresher day yesterday ahead of starting the dive season which (fingers crossed the weather improves) will begin next week! 🤿 🌊 @MBAEcology

First I had kelp in a bag...now I've got ✨kelp in a tube✨! Testing the new incubation set up in Plymouth Sound before trialling the tubes at the farm in April 🤿🚜🌱 #BlueCarbon #kelpcultivation

Another month of sampling at the seaweed farm complete! 🌊🌱🚜 9°C in the water but we were soon back on dry land to warm up thanks to a great & hardworking team 🤿

Taking full advantage of the spring low tides yesterday by collecting fertile kelp for zoospore release back in the lab. @aubin_margot1 @leathers_tayla

@SeaweedSoph recently reported on the habitat value of a sugar kelp farm. Lab processing of the non-target Furbelows kelp finally complete🥼💪🏻 Do these ‘weedy’ taxa show similar patterns of biodiversity between wild and farm populations?🐌Onto the data analysis to find out…💻📊
