(3)but living in a free & democratic country does NOT mean you are
- entitled to create sedition because you disagree with gov policy
- to demonize those who disagree
- to dishonour institutions that value free & reasonable debate
-absolve yourself from collective responsibility
There’s been a lot of chatter about freedom these days. I think it’s important to remember that it means
- free from the tyranny of an unelected gov’t machine
- free from fear of discrimination/intimidation
- free from ideological Puritanism
But being free also means…
(2) you are free to..
- receive an education
- choose which hobbies you want
- which sports you’d like to try
- love who you are drawn to
- disagree with gov policies
- do something different then your parents did
- pursue your own leisure activities
- pursue your own work
It’s been awhile. Ive seen things. I cringe. Where has real leadership gone. I’m tired of tropes. Believe in people. Not ideologies. The left has become the right. The right has become the left. Those concepts have lost meaning. Let’s debate like we actually believe in it.
What a canvassing team we had out tonight & an awesome group working in the office to get us ready for the wknd blitz! Thx to my #PETL team, former @FairlawnPSPDSB teaching partner, and #Peel students for the support! #elxn44#cdnpoli 🍊🧡
