I don’t know you personally, but as someone who worked for McClatchy at the News and Observer in Raleigh, I don’t think people realize how bad this is. What’s happened to local news is devastating.

When local coverage is gutted, you’re losing people who intimately know your community. The local perspective is lost and the narrative of the community becomes shaped by outsiders who don’t understand the people there or completely ignored altogether.

Great drill: High tee, Low tee!

This is a great way to marry two movements together. With the high-and-away pitch, it teaches us to stay connected and direct, making sure we are not dropping our back shoulder. Then the low-and-inside pitch teaches us how to keep that same direction and connection while rotating and sinking into the ground, making sure we have a strong foundation.

If we can master these two moves consistently, pitchers will have a really hard time getting us out! 💪💥🥎⚾️
