@KQEDForum yes, a 5 year renewal to charters makes districts look at schools, but the code is written to force districts to approve schools as long as they complete their petition properly. This is why reform in 1505 is necessary.
@KQEDForum the best coder in the world can make something like facebook but without proper training and credentials, there's no way they can be prepared for a classroom of students with cultural competency, ability to utilize progressive discipline, support kids in need
@KQEDForum charter schools claim they are a life boat for black students, but then why did the NAACP call for a moratorium on charters? What about the Duke study showing increased segregation in student populations thanks to charter schools?
@KQEDForum 1 the state board of ed has approved far more than just 30 schools, most often overturning the will of locally elected school boards who are accountable to the parents. The SBE isn't accountable to anyone but the governor.
#PublicBank4PublicGood! Public Banks have a mandate to serve the public. That's their mission, their purpose.
It's in stark contrast to big privately-owned corporate banks, which are in business to make profits for their shareholders.
