Question was do I have any ideas on how to deal with the opioid epidemic.
As I said, lost two siblings to overdose and another family member not far off😢
See my response below and give it a share
End the decriminalization of hard drugs.
Mandatory life sentences for big time fentanyl and gun dealers .
Mandatory minimums for the smaller dealers.
Mandatory treatment for addicts charged with crimes.
Right now there is nothing you can do if a family member is harming themselves with drugs, I would like to see some form of mandatory treatment based on family input. It’s a very helpless feeling to watch a family member slowly kill themselves, watch them go through the cycle of checking into rehab only to bail out and go back to the lifestyle.
I also believe we need a more holistic approach to drug treatment where after the detox/treatment component the people stay on site and are able to slowly re-integrate back into society , where they can get jobs and still have a place to go home too.
I see it a lot that people go to treatment and come out with a very clear hand and feeling great about themselves, but it is very hard to get by today , when you can barely make rent, feed yourself and pay all your bills. Eventually, you reach the point of despair and go back to addiction. We need a good way to end the cycle permanently.
Do you think your shitty degree at a woke institution helps your credibility?
Funny that you never hold the government to account. Oh, that’s right they allow you and your employer to continue to live off the back of the taxpayer . Your public trust does matter. In all likelihood, without those government subsidies, you would be out of a job and your shitty outlet would be out of business.
@TheRealKeean@by__brittany They do know this would have a high possibility of selecting fulmer. Removing Findlay would likely cause a "revolt vote" and members may be repelled from establishment candidates
@JJ_McCullough@wyatt_claypool Seems like common sense. If the threshold of a referendum was met. Allow it and let it be voted down. This would quell a lot (not all) of the separation talk. At least they would have their chance to be heard.
Ignore and silence disgruntled citizens at your own peril.
@DallynDana@nenshi Why are you name calling?? I'm not even from Alberta🤣. The 70% would get a say. It's called democracy.
The point I'm making is if you do not provide a conduit to determine the will of the people, you will magnify the issue.
Holding a referendum will largely settle the issue.
@acoyne I don't think any "rightists" care who picks the gg. We don't want need another parasitic leech. 300k a year for life for how many years service???
@kinsellawarren This is not good for anyone, separatists, tans that wish to remain or candians by large.
The best thing for Canada would be allow the Will of voters to speak.
@ChristophLieven@POLITICOEurope Who's interest foreign government act in?
Some of the best partnerships are when parties act in their own best interest, which also is a mutual benefit
@jamiljivani I thought conservatives were supposed to be against an overreaching state and less restrictions. Who would enforce such as silly thing, another government entity?
How about if you like it listen to it if you don't don't it's called free choice.
I would consider myself a conservative supporter, but this kind of nonsense is not helping your cause
@AmazingZoltan It's a total smear campaign . he was the mayor of Kamloops and is the Kamloops MLA and has not spoken out against the graves hoax. in addition, his wife worked for the Kamloops indian band. Sounds like he's conflicted.
@vancolour@GurvSC . this is some of the concerns I have with ian while his economic plan including the tax cut sound awesome I am concerned that he will be more of a status quo don't rock the boat leader rather than someone with courage
