🚨 Albo lectures the nation: “More respect. More kindness. Less shouting.” But he can’t explain his dirt file on Helen Haines.

In a column published on Thursday under the headline urging Australians to reject political hatred, the Prime Minister described the attack on Indi independent Helen Haines as "a test of our national character" and offered a prescription for the rest of us: "We need genuine debate. We need more respect. More kindness. More listening and less shouting."

He went further, warning that Australians "must be able to do this without challenging or questioning the loyalty to Australia of those who have a different perspective," and that "there is more than enough cruelty, violence and hatred in the world without us adding to it."

The trouble is the messenger. Only weeks before the attack, the Prime Minister's own office was circulating a document that invited journalists to look into the very woman he now holds up as the national example.

There’s been a growing acceptance among elements of the left of violence as an act of political resistance against views they disagree with. Our political leaders have said nothing.

Silence when women were threatened and abused by trans activists. Silence when public figures like @PaulineHansonOz and @salltweets received public death threats. Silence when omnicause activists burned flags and chanted “globalise the intifada” in our cities.

Some even defended violence following the murder of Charlie Kirk.

Now, instead of collectively acknowledging this problem and confronting it, they’re weaponising the horrific attack on Helen Haines to push their digital duty of care bill.

As I said to Peta Credlin on @News24Aust last night, we need leadership, not censorship.

Never forget. We've got 74 year old Ronald Munro ready to stand trial for "manicing" emails.

Munro was fed up, so he emailed his local member. Made no threats. Got no reply so he emailed a further 4 times with the final email containing a profanity. That is all. A profanity. Not a threat.

Labor called the AFP on this man and the AFP kicked in his door, executed a search warrant, turned his house upside down and charged him. Now he is set for trial.
