Caden Glauber's eight strikeouts vs. East Carolina on Saturday marked the most by a @DiamondHeels freshman in an NCAA tournament game in the super regional era (since 1999).
Seven came on his slider, which has a 46.2 Whiff% (91st percentile nationally) and a 39.5 Chase% (97th).
Great piece on the the primary care rush from @ReedAbelson. The purchase of @onemedical caused many to ask what was next for @amazon in health care. In this piece @brstaats and I look for connections to other @amazon deals outside of hc like @WholeFoods. https://t.co/DzZgi2kSWr
Weekly phone calls have become a staple of our program. Kids call someone they love from a place they love to be. Always ending the phone call with I love you.
We’re not promised tomorrow.Tell one’s close to you, you love them often.Thankful for these young men. Love these guys!
Learning often means getting comfortable being uncomfortable. But it still can be fun - “For some reason, people believed that it was only real learning if it was boring, difficult, and unpleasant. For Dante, the best learning had always been when he was having fun.”
Staring them in the eye means we have to acknowledge to ourselves & others that we make mistakes. Taking them down requires getting everyone comfortable to talk about what is really there and then learning to do better.
Love this quote from my current fiction read (Cycle of Galand). “"Leadership isn't about pretending your mistakes don't exist," she said. "It's about staring them in the eye. And taking them down."”
Special shout-out to faculty members Paolo Fulghieri, @pattyharms & Tanja Snively who celebrated both graduations today with our students. (And photo credit to Tanja after I forgot my phone…)
Afternoon celebration with our online Master of Accounting (MAC) graduates. Incredible group. Six-way tie for Valedictorian with those students all earning high passes in EVERY course. Wow.
Great to see our faculty award winners. Alison Fragale for evening MBA, @atulnerkar100 for MBA@UNC & @Ted_Zoller for Weekend MBA. Star faculty who bring rigor and relevance to the classroom!
As we think about change, I love this quote from my current fun read (Cycle of Galand) by Edward Robertson "You can't let the fear of how others might respond stop you from doing what's right. Otherwise, the world will stay wrong forever."
