This cluster of thunderstorms moving toward the Philadelphia metro will be the best chance for severe most likely for Southeast PA, Delaware, and Southern New Jersey over the next couple of hours. The activity coming in later this evening likely dies close to the I-78 corridor.

So I admit I am not an expert on AQI, but I'm trying to figure out how we are in a code red air quality alert... yet the Lehigh Valley AQI is 371 at 5:00pm which is the highest level (code maroon - hazardous) of the six.

Anyone smarter than me want to chime in?

Image on the left is a newly issued severe t-storm watch. Image on the right is what I drew for forum members earlier this morning, showing areas I thought could see at least some severe risk, and disagrees with the rest of the region having a risk more than an isolated one.
