@Yael4Hanover Japan's was not quite unconditional. We agreed to let the emperor remain in some sort of role, believing he would help his people accept defeat. There appeared to be at least tacit agreement that he would not be charged with war crimes.
@DrNeilStone Actually there was some negotiation with Japan. The U.S. allowed the Emperor to remain as a figurehead, knowing that it would help convince the Japanese to submit to U.S. rule. But he was eventually required to admit he was not a divine ruler, and he faced no war crime charges
@1CLEbaseballfan Respect and love Hammy, but it's not just winning, it's at least attempting to keep your best players. Ramirez had to all but beg to stay before accepting a Dolan lowball offer.
@CLEsportsTalk It's not this series, it's the whole season. Except for a 13 game stretch last month, total inability to hit with runners in scoring position. Lack of power-OPS among lowest in baseball.
@HowardKurtz Early on in his days hosting MTP, Tim Russert was quick to interrupt. He learned that constantly interrupting and talking over guests didn't work. He learned to pick his spots. I know, I know. He didn't have to deal with Trump. But you have to give guests some space.
