Is a Rolex and Omega watch CGT assessable?
Is my EH Holden that has 1,000 hours and not my daily driver assessable?
Is my mums jewellery that she gave to me before she died, is that CGT assessable?
Is my Australian Stamp collection which Dad started pre decimal, is that CGT assessable? Do I have to get 3,000 individual stamps valued by 1st July 2027?

Capital Gains Tax assessable collectables

Neil what a lot of Australians missed in our recent budget was the changes to. CGT on collectables.
I have put the first part of the explanation here. It requires others to do their own research to confirm this is fact and not BS.
As unregistered reporter I might be sharing information the Government feels it is not in interest to know!

In Australia, any capital gain from selling a collectable asset purchased for more than $500 is assessable for Capital Gains Tax (CGT). These gains are included as part of your assessable income, and if you incur a capital loss on a collectable, you can only offset it against capital gains from other collectables List of CGT assets and exemptions.

Recognised collectables include:
Artwork, paintings, sculptures, and drawings
Jewellery and antiques
Rare folios, manuscripts, or books
Coins, medallions, and postage stamps
First-day covers
