Professional racing driver Ollie Millroy thanks competitor Loek Hartog for saving his life after getting into a fiery crash over the weekend in China.

Millroy says he'd be dead if Hartog hadn't jumped out of his car to pull him out of his burning car.

"I am still alive tonight, entirely thanks to one man. Loek Hartog stopped instantly with no flag marshalls or fire crews in sight, and risked his own life to get me out of the car."

"I don’t remember anything between 30 seconds before the crash and 1 hour after it, but I will remember his incredible act of bravery for the rest of my life..."

Cleveland Police have released a tribute from the wife of PC Matthew Blades, who tragically lost his life in Saturday morning's collision on the A66.

Her words are heartbreaking.

𝗡𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁.

She describes Matt as her beloved husband, her best friend and the most devoted father to their two young boys. An adored son and brother, a perfect son-in-law, the most fun uncle, and someone who was loved beyond words by his family and friends.

She also speaks about his service, and the way he gave his life in the line of duty, protecting and serving others with courage, dedication and selflessness.

But it is clear from every word of this tribute that, alongside the officer so many people knew, was the Matt his family knew and loved: a husband, a dad, a son, a brother, an uncle and a friend.

His wife says their children will grow up knowing what an incredible father he was and will always be, and that she will carry his love, his memory and everything they shared with her always.

She also thanked the emergency services and the wider police family for the kindness, compassion, love and support they have shown the family during the most difficult time of their lives.

Perhaps the most powerful words are her own:
