Yesterday, just before the zoo closed and Monkey Mountain’s curtain came down for almost three weeks… around 4:30 PM, Punch climbed up and sat in that one spot where he could be seen so clearly from the back row. Everyone was recording him.

It felt like he knew we wouldn’t be seeing him for a while and wanted to give everyone one last look. I know he may not understand any of this, but he looked just as sad as all of us watching. 🥺

We might not see you for a while, Punchi… but our wishes will keep you safe.

Three days… two precious reunions 🥹

Day before yesterday it was Papa Kosuke Shikano,
and today Papa Shumpei Miyakoshi gave Punch a ride 😭❤️

After almost a whole month of separation, Punch still didn’t forget either of his caretakers…
maybe the zoo is slowly returning to the old plan? 🤞

Thank you so much for these happy moments, Ichikawa Zoo 🙏
The day is coming very close when we won’t be able to see Punch from September… 😭😭

8/20/2026 วันนี้พอถึงตอนเที่ยง พันช์คุงก็วิ่งมาเกาะพ่อชิคาโนะเลย มีบางครั้งที่พ่อชิคาโนะพยายามจะให้พันช์ลงมากินอาหาร แต่น้องไม่ลงและพยายามกอดพ่อชิคาโนะไว้ตลอดเวลา พ่อชิคาโนะก็ตามใจพันช์เหมือนเดิม คงจะคิดถึงลูกชายมากเหมือนกันแน่ๆ เป็นภาพที่อบอุ่นจังเลย ☺️🫳🏻🐒❤️

Punch warmly hugged Sotomaru. 😌🥹 Grandpa Sotomaru and Punch truly share a special bond. He always treats Punch so gently and kindly. 🥹🥹
Meanwhile, Punch's friend was roaming around nearby. Punch noticed her and tried to communicate and get closer, but she isn't very close to him yet, so she ran away. 😂😂
