@TotalVilla_ Well the best way to deal with this is to take a leaf out of Buendia's book. Wasn't wanted, villa open to selling him, out on loan. But came back, put in strong performances and contributed brilliantly in key moments. So, over to him..
@danbardell I also have a hunch that Ruggeri could start, with Maatsen playing ahead of him or likewise on the right, Wan-Bissake with Cash in front. Players who know Emery's system getting up and down, whilst new players adapt.
@BraddersOak Perhaps not about affordability. Mbaye number 1 target. Leao maybe a ruse, or didn't feel value of buying Leao outright, so sounded out loan as back up option.
@1874TheLions <£20m wouldn't be worth it unless buy-back option or big % sell-on. Not going to find a versatile young player to replace with good PL experience who hasn't reached ceiling, for that. Unless we have bad injuries, his game time will be limited, so offers >£30m worth listening to.
@Joe_E_Young I think he would add quality and depth, and Emery would improve him. I just can't see us spending >£40m on initially a squad player (unless outgoings) especially when other positions more in need for reinforcements.
@TotalVilla_ With the injuries and lack of depth in midfield, I'm a bit surprised we didn't see more of him in the CDM position. Although not his best position has played there before for club and country, and with his calm/consistent nature could've been helpful in there.
@Bisqwit If it is 10th March that's approx 2 and half weeks isn't jt - Feb being a short month. Counting down the days! Would miss Leeds, Wolves and Chelsea but back for Utd game.
@VillaJG_ Even if we did only get 12 points from these 7 games, to get to the 67 points mark (for last 5 seasons enough for 5th), we'd only need 9 points from the remaining 7 games.
@theavfcfaithful I think both start on the bench. With no fixture in the week, Emery will have a week with both of them to help their 'adaptation' back. Against Bournemouth, maybe one or both to start.
@Markyb610 For the last 5 years, the average points for 5th in premier league - 66.8 points. So for this number, need 20 points from remaining 15 matches.
@BraddersOak Yes, perhaps for some. But there is a reason some of these are in lowly positions is because Viila beat them. If Bologne had beaten Villa they'd be joint 6th, if Fenerbache had won today 8th.
@StevenBillingh5 Whilst I agree in the most part, Elliott remains a Liverpool player. His value will continue to decrease, the longer he isn't playing. So surely they'll want to explore options to increase his minutes maintain/increase value for a summer sale.
