@_tatercrater @Awk20000 As far as adoption, Home studies before adoption already check for secure gun storage to mitigate the risk to child entering the home. How would you mitigate the chance of abuse? For hetero or homo, I'm not sure. Is the chance to be homed worth the risk in either case?

Whether for a group, a way of life, or a single person. Be as you are, but give yourself enuff grace to make mistakes and change when you need to.

@WarriorMathias @scrowder And the difference between a "luxury" and "non-luxury" is an opinion. And not something you really want gov't to decide on. Quick example, the Pell grants your kid gets...maybe the gov't would judge state universities as "luxuries". Maybe "luxury" roads? Slippery slope dude.

@WarriorMathias @scrowder Use whatever label you like. I'm intimately aware of the 20hr req. You and your parents, gparents, etc have paid taxes all your life. If your son should fall below the poverty line and be in need of food, I doubt you'd think of it as an "entitlement" and police his food decisions

@Scarlett429 @scrowder I don't think they see the future effects of what they're suggesting. Gov't creating two food supplies. In general, I don't think ppl are that mad about people below the poverty line getting stamps. This seems more like class warfare stuff.

@WarriorMathias @scrowder If you start policing the food supply, it won't be steak and lobster that gets scrubbed. Most TV dinners, salad dressing, condiments will make the list. You don't want someone in government creating two classes of food supply.

@scrowder Junk food is cheaper. In practice, eating healthy is a lot like high morals. You need a certain income to afford either. Food stamps require being below the poverty line and already have work requirements. Weird hill to die on.

@SolomonC85 @VladTheInflator This is just a result of the influx of migrants in the 90s. The young men were conditioned to work summers on harvest or on trade crews. All that disappeared when the farmers and the construction companies were able to buy and house a dozen migrants in a trailer.
