A teenage boy offered to clean my entire storm-damaged yard for just $40.
At first, I thought he was desperate.
Then I saw the injured dog beside him.
Seventeen-year-old Mason spent all day hauling broken branches in brutal heat without complaining once. Every twenty minutes, he stopped—not to rest, but to check on the stray dog he’d rescued the day before.
The dog had been hit by a car.
Broken leg.
Visible ribs.
Nowhere else to go.
When I asked Mason why he needed the money so badly, his voice cracked:
“If I can’t pay for the surgery tonight… they’ll transfer him.”
That’s when I realized:
He wasn’t working for spending money.
He was trying to save a life.
By sunset, my yard was spotless.
I handed him $500.
He tried to refuse it because we had “agreed on forty.”
A kid willing to work himself to exhaustion for a dog he barely knew.
Not because he had to.
Because he chose to.
People say young people today are lazy or selfish.
That’s not what I saw.
I saw character.
Compassion.
Responsibility.
Sometimes, the richest people are the ones willing to give everything they have for someone who has nothing.

@notsam your show freakin rules! I love Busted open and all the other shows on #pwn247, but NotSam Wrestling Live is the one i look forward to every day. Thanks for the fun show!
This morning walking into the track, I was thinking of how a year ago on this day, I was riding on the back of a golf cart with @_HollyCain. She pointed to a large lump on her neck and expressed concern it meant her cancer had returned. After that race weekend, she went home and got it confirmed. In the offseason and into the early months of this season, Holly underwent an extreme chemo/radiation treatment that many people do not survive. Somehow, she’s still with us. And one year later, she’s here at the track again, doing her job as always. Definitely not taking it for granted. We’re so happy to get extra time with you, Holly.

11 years and over 4000 days of working at SHR. Office has been cleaned out and tomorrow will be my last day in the building.. Still hard to even fathom. So many great memories. But I’m excited for what’s next and blessed to be able to go be with another family of racers.. ❤️
If you get an I Voted sticker for voting early, you should be able to scan it on your TV and all political ads should be replaced by normal commercials
Family , I’m thrilled to announce that thanks to your support, we’ve won Wahl’s beard competition! Your votes have made this possible, and I’m incredibly grateful. This $25,000 prize will make a big impact by helping us provide equipment for kids in our 50 Yard Challenge. Each year, around 100+ kids complete the challenge, and this generous amount will cover about 45-50% of our needs for next year!
On November 16th, Wahl will present the check to me at the University of Alabama football game in front of an audience of 100,000! Their massive Mobile Barbershop will be parked on Champions Lane outside Bryant-Denny Stadium from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. All are invited to stop by the barbershop, where Wahl will donate $100 for every FREE beard trim to support our organization, up to an additional $5,000.
Hope to see you there! ROLL TIDE! @WahlGrooming
