At tonight's Americana Awards, original members of the Heartbreakers, Mike Campbell, Benmont Tench, Stan Lynch ,and Ron Blair, will reunite to open the show with a special performance alongside Chris Stapleton. Heartbreakers Steve Ferrone and Scott Thurston will also join in for a final song.

Additionally, the band will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award.

I won't say it's rare, but it is heartening when someone you admire is actually as gracious and engaging as you would hope. Outside a movie, I saw my favorite podcaster, @ChrisRyan77, of @thewatchpod, @TheRewatchables & @TheBigPic. I never do this, but I said hello. He and his wife couldn't have been sweeter. It probably helped that I looked like I was cosplaying as a CR fanboy: wearing a Husker Du t-shirt and carrying a 1000 page Robert Caro book, both of which he instantly noted. It's not the biggest deal, but I'm old school. I like when people you hope are nice really are.

And the team has 10.

It was a great honor to get to lead our synagogue in “The Prayer for America”— especially on a day commemorating the 25th anniversary of 9-11. The entire day was a resonant reminder, not just of the profound grief & confusion that tragedy engendered, but also, that for a brief moment, we felt like one people who were all in it together.
