@wootfro@ctww_drummer@JGreenbergSez Cheating is when someone doesn’t play by the rules. Article 66.4 makes a one match ban automatic. Asking for a review of the call is not part of the rules, and never was. This goes against the rules and gives a clear and unfair advantage to the USMNT. Do you get it now?
@wootfro@ctww_drummer@Absolution361@JGreenbergSez It doesn’t matter what anyone thinks about the call. A decision was made. VAR upheld the decision. Suspending the sentence so the player can continue to play despite the punishment is unfair and will completely wreck the sport if national teams and clubs can now just lobby FIFA
@wootfro@ctww_drummer@JGreenbergSez And all of this posturing is completely irrelevant to the fact that the US team has broken the rules, or had the rules changed solely for their benefit at this tournament. It’s an absolute disgrace that puts the entire organization into disrepute.
@wootfro@ctww_drummer@JGreenbergSez This is not even fucking true. Name one example of a professional sports team in the US that requested that an opposing team’s suspended player become available for their game because they wanted to face them at full strength? This whole logic is absolutely fucking idiotic.
@nic_carter@zaheerebtikar No one cares about facing balogun. It’s the fucking principle of reffing decisions and how they shouldn’t be influenced by a head of state. Americans have now tainted what was a very impressive run with clear corruption claims.
@hoggbylgja@Pentosh1@ynwaAnt@LoLoByke You’ve completely missed the point. Past laws and institutions create lasting effects. That doesn’t mean Black people lack agency or need “coddling”.. People can be fully capable while still being shaped by historical conditions, just as any population can be. Its not either/or
@Bara_Vasinar@TheDominoesFall@Delikwu The level of delusion required by these mouth breathing MAGA types to deny reality is truly astonishing and will be studied for years to come.
@Pentosh1@hoggbylgja@ynwaAnt@LoLoByke The question of who started slavery, who perpetuated it, and who ended it tells only part of the story. The US, its government, and its people also bear responsibility for the injustices that followed, from Black Codes, Jim Crow, and redlining to segregation and systemic racism.
