Most people dunking on Michael Dell’s wife have no idea who the man actually is.
This dude became a billionaire at 26.
Took his company private.
Bought it back.
Then built one of the greatest comeback stories in tech.
And he did it with the same woman by his side since 1989! 36 years!!
He was shy
She was a baddie
She pulled him out of his shell
They built an empire together
That’s the part Clown Twitter misses.
Anyone can upgrade a car.
It takes a different kind of man to stay loyal when you don’t have to.
And it takes a different kind of partnership to survive:
• Going public at 23
• Losing $100B in market cap
• Getting written off by every analyst
• Building it all back to $120B+
Meanwhile they're raising four kids and just donated $6.25B to children's causes.
But Twitter's roasting her appearance at 60....
Imagine building a company from your dorm room…
Hitting a billion before your brain is fully formed…
Keeping the same partner for four decades…
Raising a family…
Becoming world-class philanthropists…
And still getting roasted by dudes who haven't kissed a girl since middle school
If you’re a founder:
Let this be a reminder of what actually ages well.
Skill.
Character.
Loyalty.
Impact.

@jorge_hur@SqueaksOnX @Danica0x That's incorrect. She must have had an underlying heart condition. Your body does not have a heart attack due to extreme stress unless the heart is compromised.
@theficouple Net worth is tricky? How much of that is locked up in home equity? Having that in non retirement investment accounts is a different story.
@MatrixMysteries Yo it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. 50k on repairs this year alone. Put that same money in VTI. I’m also a millennial registered nurse but got “lucky” during the Covid interest rates.
I averaged 2-3 hours of sleep for several years due to night shift work. Occasionally, I'd get a little more sleep on off days. The more you do it, though, the more you think you're ok.
Make your days useless, because if you're at all productive, you'll fool yourself into thinking you're ok, priming yourself to do it again.
After about a month on a regular schedule, I found out how fucked my brain was.
My wife. My children. I'm still unsure and shaky at times. But my practice (going to church, studying the bible, praying) seems to bring me more good in my life.
I highly recommend listening to Alex O'Connor's podcast (@CosmicSkeptic). He's an atheist who is fascinated with Christianity, leading to unique conversations with Christians.
@spartanmadeit@leevalueroach Ya that’s the thing. New roof? Inflation affects the cost as well as any repairs/renovations done. Insurance also goes up with inflation. Depending on the state, property tax will go up as well. Boomers are another story.
At every stage of my life, I had some older adult tell me I wasn’t making the right decision. They would always steer me towards the safe, reliable path. I often strayed from the popular path and chose my own path instead. If I would have listened to all of those people, I wouldn’t be financially free today. Following the crowd is a bad decision. Be you. Trust your gut. Take the chance. You only have one life.
@Budgetdog_ Nassim Taleb calls it a digital tulip.
I wonder how much impact microstrategy would have if they were forced to sell.
I’ve always been concerned about quantum computing. Although grok has some interesting responses in how the network would be able to solve that problem.
