@ravelp6 Many people are going to drive regardless so they'd rather be stuck in traffic for only the game instead of also contending with regular city traffic. It's perfectly rational if you pretend other transportation options don't exist and assume everyone else will drive too
@RBSecondDriver Also if you expect someone to do one thing and they do something different, it will feel like their fault even if the decision was reasonable. You can look back and realize your share of fault, but that's not what you're thinking about immediately after
@ravelp6 People that advocate for just putting people in "vacant" homes are not serious. Same with people who insist that public housing is the ONLY policy rather than an important part of the solution. There's no single magic bullet. Reductive Twitter discourse is horrible for this
@alanthefisher This isn't even across the city. In university areas September 1st move in is basically law. Neighborhoods without large schools or student populations have a more normal variation though. Areas with lots of students cater to them, those without them don't
In 1962, we organized sit-ins to end racist policies at the University of Chicago. In '63, I was arrested protesting segregated schools. But we were right.
I’m proud to see students protesting the war in Gaza.
Stay peaceful and focused. You’re on the right side of history.
truly surreal to hear campus protestors being called ‘agents of hamas’ then see an interview with some kid named bryce. hamas doesn’t even know about bryce
Great ‘third spaces’ like East Boston’s The Quiet Few are an invaluable asset to any community. Any neighborhood in Boston or Massachusetts would be lucky to have them.
Elected officials should be asking how can we make it easier to open places like this… not harder.
@ravelp6 I think South station sucks but that's largely due to its awful connectivity with the rest of the city and region. Making the silver line real and connecting with North station fixes it's biggest problems imo
@ravelp6 We live in a city notorious for awful traffic. Many people will choose biking or transit if we can actually manage to make it safe and dependable
Sometimes it feels like my friends and family don't really understand how much blood, sweat, and tears it takes to be this mediocre at a game I don't really like.
