6. While there are frustrations, there is no doubt that the SBC cares about the Great Commission and wants to strengthen a foundation that can continue to send out missionaries, raise up pastors, and strengthen churches to make the name of Jesus known.
2. If you only attend the business and don’t take time for lunches, dinners, breakouts, sermons, etc., you probably leave feeling discouraged.
3. If ALL you did were lunches, dinners, breakouts, sermons, etc. Then you missed the point of the convention.
5. Much of the rhetoric surrounding the Truth and Unity Amendment shows that many do not understand what the amendment is for, or have no idea what the BFM 2000 says in the first place.
“Suffering is not the worst thing a Christian can face. It is far worse to face the spiritual poison of thinking you are good enough and don’t need God.” - Heath Lambert
"I am not worthy to have you come under my roof... But say the word and let my servant be healed." - Luke 7:6-7
We don't make it to God because we are worthy, but because Jesus makes us worthy. Ready to preach this passage at Woodside this morning!
I can’t wait for Woodside Baptist Church to gather and celebrate all that the Lord did at Go GVL yesterday, and to see how others cared for our church in the process.
💪My body is sore.
❤️My heart is full.
🧠📖My mind is ready to proclaim God’s Word.
Speech exposes what the heart truly believes.
• Consistent complaining may reveal unbelief or discontent.
• Constant criticism may reveal pride or self-righteousness.
• Ongoing anxiety-filled speech may reveal where trust is lacking.
After preaching on fruit:
"I should have had someone count how many times I said fruit in the sermon today."
Two Teenagers: "We don't know how many times you said that, but you said, ' The reality is 25 times today!"
Glad they listened so well and told me my verbal crutch 😆
Pastor, if you find yourself discouraged by attendance two weeks after Easter, remember this:
You are called to preach to the need, not the number.
Whether it’s 1 or 100, we all need the hope of the gospel.
It may be rainy outside, but our reason for joy hasn’t changed. This is the day the Lord has made, and Jesus is still on the throne. Excited to praise Him today with the folks at Woodside!
