@ViewToForever@Protestia No, it’s a free live stream, but it’s still their property. What gives Protestia (or anyone else) the right to rebroadcast BP’s content and profit from it? They can do recaps or give commentary all they want, but they can’t rebroadcast and profit from content that isn’t theirs.
@markpenrith@Protestia@Jonathan_Howe Protestia rebroadcasted the entitre live stream, w/o permission or authorization, on their monetized channel. Commentary makes no difference. It’s no different than if they had rebroadcasted a sporting event and added commentary. They were trying to make $ from BP’s content.

@Brycestaggs@HeidenRatner@albertmohler Exactly my point. We need to change bylaw 8 to allow the messengers to appeal the decision of the committee and bring it to the convention floor for a vote.
@Brycestaggs@HeidenRatner@albertmohler I believe the correct solution to such issues is a revision of the bylaw 8 process such that the convention has the final say. When put to the messengers, we’ve voted overwhelmingly to disfellowship everytime.

@DavidFriersonJr@RichardJLucasJr@unnamed_sourc3s@IMB_SBC I don’t know of anyone better suited than the IMB. I did see the Haiti couple, not IMB for the record. They understood the risk when they followed God’s call and went. The Great Commission doesn’t have an asterisk. God doesn’t call us to stay comfortable..
@DavidFriersonJr@RichardJLucasJr@unnamed_sourc3s@IMB_SBC The Great Commission instructs us to make disciples of all nations. Again, we go to many unreached people, some off the grid and undeveloped. Areas where if we didn’t go, they would never know the name of Jesus. Areas where Christians are persecuted and can’t identify publicly.
@DavidFriersonJr@RichardJLucasJr@unnamed_sourc3s@IMB_SBC It’s not foolish. It’s the Great Commission. Our missionaries go to many places and people groups where there are no Christians. How will they believe if they do not hear? How will they hear if we do not go and tell?
@WilliamWolfe@BaptistLeaders is part of a Presbyterian organization, @AmReformer, so the “faces” of the organization may be SBC, but the movement is clearly being funded and driven by Presbyterians.
@JonathanESwan I think if it was a real issue, the committee would already be overrun. I think they WILL be overrun by dubious reports of churches with female childrens ministers, womens ministers, etc, as that is what made up most of those alleged “thousands of female pastors in the SBC”.
@Steadfast_Women@Protestia Yes, that is what is meant by registered, but people are constantly in and out of the hall, the meeting ends up ahead or behind schedule, lunches run late, etc., so it’s not always intentional. The vote numbers this year were actually closer to the registration number than usual.
@selfathome@Protestia All candidates are nominated on the spot. That’s how it works. Some choose to announce ahead of time and campaign, but nobody is officially nominated until the time for nominations during the meeting and anyone can rise to make a nomination. Any messenger should know that.
