Samuel Sharpe committed suicide in 1918 due to his experiences. Baker was acknowledged for decades as only MP death in Canada.
In my post-PhD life, I have found myself relaxing by making sports history videos! I became excited doing the work for the history of Labatt's Beer and the Toronto Blue Jays baseball team that talks about beer, sports, and two cities I have called home. https://t.co/9NcxvxVvaL
Tonight, the Blue Jays finish their series against the San Francisco Giants. Labatt's had tried to first buy a baseball team before they were awarded an expansion franchise. The team they tried to buy? The Giants. Other videos are on my channel showing other sports history tales.
Fans of the Blue Jays also have to thank two Montreal teams, the Canadiens and the Expos, for the existence of the Blue Jays. With Labatt's biggest rival in Montreal and part of that cities sporting landscape, Labatt's would not have considered entering into professional sports.
