@covie_93 OR they understand the principles on which our country was founded. Anyone can seek public office, not just lawyers or prominent politicians.
@Dan_Dawer IMO all of these takeovers are just seizing control away from the local school boards. Hence, the state will have all decision making control.
@M3nagerie_Mom@DeAngelisCorey “Better results” is subjective. Teachers in my state don’t have union dues. Texas average salary for all workers is $63-65k. Texas average public school teacher salary is $50-54k. “Paying enough” is also subjective. Most teachers I know have a second job to make ends meet.
@mcnuggetmel@BigSkyIsAwesome Exactly! And a student can’t fail more than once in elementary to junior high because you could end up with a 12 year old in 4th grade. No accountability! Not the teachers fault.
@M3nagerie_Mom@DeAngelisCorey And yet teachers are still more than willing to work in public schools. It’s because we love what we do. Low pay shouldn’t be justified because people are willing to do the work.
