You are so rude and racist!! It was said in another post (I found this post from another one) that the white guy had actually called ICE on the workers so he wouldn't have to pay them because he thought they were illegals and, well, let's just say that THIS video is AFTER ICE released them because *cough* THEY ARE F*CKING LEAGAL!!
So. Get your facts before spewing hatred and lies!!
You are 100% WRONG!!
The odds of a man not being taken serious is LOW, first off!!
Secondly, if a man is at the point of where this DOCTOR was with attitude, ALL medical staff would be tossing what tests they are going to be putting him through, within an INSTANT!!
I know what your problem is!! You do NOT respect women!!
In the clip the SURGEON is brush off BEFORE she can even get 3 words out!!!! EVERYONE keeps interrupting her!!!
YOU BEST BELIEVE THAT I WILL START WITH ATTITUDE THE SECOND YOU TRY TO SPEAK OVER ME!!
You are an ignorant fool who has little to no respect for women!!
You looked past what she was saying and straight to how she was acting!!
Check the comments!! I GUARANTEE that more women will be on the SURGEON'S side than the doctor's and more men will be on the doctor's side instead of the SURGEON'S side!!
Why?
Because it proves the point, MEN think that WOMEN can't handle pain AND they ignore the words the women say and pay attention to the "attitude".
As a medical professional it is their DUTY to listen to the patient.
There are way too many preventable deaths caused by the pure ignorance and PRIDE of so many "doctors" who ignore their patients!!
You are not a doctor!!! I am not taking your stupid replies!!!
Look it up yourself!!!
It 100% is PROVEN that doctors don't pay attention to women who complain about pain and/or symptoms!!
Don't believe me?!?
Well, if you are a doctor, you know this is true.
If you aren't, well then stop giving you unwanted "medical knowledge"π and do your research!!!
Women are not taken seriously in the presence of doctors!!
Simple! Final! The end! Full stip! DONE!
I obviously told the doctor the second time that the Pepcid seemed to make it worse and what my very symptoms were.
There also are tests that need ro be done in order to assume gastritis is an issue. π€·πΎββοΈ
The second doctor definitely should have considered gallbladder issues! Especially since the Pepcid actually made my symptoms worse. I only took the Pepcid a few days because the pain was becoming more frequent.
You think I didn't mention the past diagnosis? You think I didn't tell them about the feeling of a tennis ball in the center of my chest? The radiating pain that lasted up to NINE HOURS?
That the Pepcid made it worse the first time and they had the audacity to prescribe Pepcid to me AGAIN!!
LISTEN!! YOU KNOW NOTHING!!! I WASN'T TAKEN SERIOUSLY BECAUSE I WAS A WOMAN (a BLACK woman to be exact!!)
My husband had a level FIVE pain for a toothache, he gets Tylenol with Codeine. I go in for an injured knee, told to stay out of work and off of my leg for TWO weeks and I don't even get a prescription for Ibuprofen and just get told to go across the street to the CVS to buy my own Ibuprofen and for me to take 6-8 pills and I have symptoms that pint towards gallbladder and TWICE get prescribed Pepcid to deal with the pain. First time, ok, I get it, but the second time?!?!?!?
TWICE I went to the doctor (1 year apart with two different doctors) with a level 10 pain in my chest that radiated to my back, neck and arm. I had nausea and was vomiting. These symptoms, at the time were happening at least once to twice a month for that whole year and a few months before the first visit. The episodes also lasted between 3-9 HOURS, more often than not closer to the 9 hours.
I explained all my symptoms CALMLY! Know what they said, both times? They told me it was gastritis. π€£ππ€£π They prescribed me Pepcid, of which I took and it did nothing (if not made it worse).
I went on Google, saw the symptoms are identical to gallbladder issues. I used the suggested remedies to alleviate the pain (just a simple glass of apple cider vinegar and water or apple juice and cut down on the fatty foods which cause the episodes. Wow! Relief in a matter of minutes!! Imagine if the doctors had listened to me, I could have had relief a long tine ago.
I occasionally have discomfort when I forget and eat fatty foods, but I am able to relieve the symptoms easily if they become too unbearable.
So, yeah, being misdiagnosed twice is really aggravating.
Well, then, maybe the doctor should shut their mouths, use their ears (and eyes, for those ailments/symptoms that are visible to the eye) and pay attention to what is being said before opening their mouths and ignoring everything that us being said to them.
I have had different doctors. Thankfully many took what I said seriously. Others just nodded their head, wrote a prescription and sent me on my way.
Maybe I wouldn't berate anyone if they took my concerns seriously. π€·πΎββοΈ
It goes both ways:
Respect ne and I will respect you.
Also, women do not get their symptoms dismissed due to the way we act. It is 100% due to the fact that doctors do not take women's pain seriously.
So, regardless to what this factional situation in the clip is about:
The point that it was trying to make is that women, even when they have education and knowledge to back them up, they STILL are NOT taken seriously.
So shut up and understand that doctors NEVER take women seriously when it comes to issues they are having.
No one knows my body better than I do!! So I am the ONLY ONE who knows that something is wrong with my body and what the actual symptoms are.
Also, back to the clip, she needs the test because the stupid doctor is going off the symptoms associated with men's heart attack symptoms instead of realizing that symptoms in women are different!!!
So. Yeah. She has every right to berate the doctor since he was refusing to stop thinking as a man instead of as a medical professional!!
Well, you know, being ignored and brushed aside without someone listening to you most definitely is a reason to get upset...and you add pain on top of that and now you have a double reason.
The doctor didn't even try considering any other diagnosis.
Again, like I've already said, there have been many patients who either passed away or were permanently injured all because a doctor didn't want to take the patient seriously. MANY!!
Also, as has already been stated, it is a proven fact that doctors minimize women's (and even more so, women of color's) pain.
Too many think that women exaggerate their pain and that it can't be as bad as the women say it is.
It is proven women actually have higher pain tolerance than men. Think of all the natural ways women suffer pain (giving birth, menstruation, etc) and on top of a lot of the pains a woman suffers (including illnesses) they are still expected to go about their daily activities (work, taking care of their family, etc) and they do all of that, but, trust and believe that if she is asking for some pain relief, chances are she has hit her limit.
@Chandle74418127@StarrThaGoddess@Camsiyonna1 Also, FYI, isn't it funny that in this episode, she was, in fact, suffering from a heart attack.
Hmm...imagine that. π€
So, all this ignoring her pleas almost cost her her life.
Well, she wasn't being rude to the staff until they refused to listen to her. π€·πΎββοΈ
She is a high paid surgeon. Pretty sure the bill wouldn't be a problem for her.
Not taking a patient's concerns seriously can easily cost the hospital WAY more than what a lawsuit of a wrongful death from her family will cost.
SHE is a medical professional!! She knows her body. She knows that heart attack symptoms are different from men's symptoms and she is obviously aware that more women die from untreated heart problems than men because too many people want to think that a woman is overreacting about pain and/or symptoms and deny her the treatment she needs.
I have been misdiagnosed three separate times for the same issue. I finally got the correct diagnose and was glad to finally get someone to do the necessary tests.
Could she have calmed down with her attitude, yes, of course, but, when you are in pain and being ignored you tend to get upset.
Also, in the case of the clip, her being black actually does matter A LOT!!
Women get brushed aside when it comes to people taking them seriously about pain, where as black women do have it harder. It's been proven. Do your research. I'm not going to do it for you since if I did and proved you wrong that would 100% show that I am smarter that you!
So show how smart you are and try to find RELIABLE sources that PROVE what I say is wrong.
Way to show your racist side.ππΎ
"Why must we have shows where BLACKS (this is the correct way to spell it!! You're so racist you can't even bring yourself to type it out.) are super intelligent"? Well, honey, it is because there ARE, believe it or not, super intelligent black people jist as much as there are super intelligent white people.
Name just ONE show where they have a black person being smarter than white people, which, 100% there are cases where some black people are smarter than some white people. JUST ONE!!
You can't use this show because she isn't trying to be smarter than the white male doctor!! She is educating him on HER OWN BODY and how she KNOWS something is wrong!!
Why are you offended seeing black people being smarter than white people?
Smarter and intelligent black people exist too! You do know that, right?
Your race is FAR from the superiority you seem to think it is!!
@Chandle74418127 she was speaking as someone who has experience. First off, SHE is the ONLY one who knows her body, and she felt something was off. She has experience and education on the subject, pretty sure that you need to know about heart attacks if you are a surgeon. The male doctor was thinking in the sense of a "typical" heart attack, which most go by what is a typical heart attack for MEN! She knows and understands that women's symptoms are, more often than not, quite different.
Why can't the male doctor just do the tests? He's getting paid to do tests. Worst that happens they find out she is fine and the doctor STILL gets paid.
It is actually a proven FACT that women are not taken seriously in hospitals! Women of color are even less to be taken seriously.
It is believed that women exaggerated their pain levels.
Know what the funniest thing is? It's proven that, overall, women actually have higher pain tolerances than men. Birth and menstruation and other things are examples.
MOST women dont seek out help for their pain, myself included, until it has gone in for a while. So. By the time they decide to get help, they very likely are at their wits end and can't take the pain anymore.
Women are expected to perform family/house duties even when they are sick or injured, and most actually do.
Because, it literally isn't "just people in general".
Women are never taken seriously. Tell me why my husband who had a toothache of which he told the doctor he was having a level 5 pain was given Tylenol with codeine, while I went in there with pain in my knee with a level of 8 and the inability to walk (they even gave me a brace and told me to not walk on it or go back to work for TWO WEEKS, so, clearly they though it was serious) and what did the doctor tell me? To go across the street and buy some Ibuprofen, he didn't even prescribe me Ibuprofen. If it matters, I am a black female.
@Torresalonso123@ShellieSolar@ejigah599 True that the police didn't know who was responsible for the children when they FIRST spoke with the mother, HOWEVER, the SECOND she mentioned that her ex was supposed to be watching them the police should have immediately started asking questions about the ex.
