Why I made Still Holding.

In crypto, people come and go all the time. After a few years, a lot of relationships end up being temporary, or you just forget they existed.

This week's project for @bskts26weeks is Still Holding.

A small tool for artists and collectors on Solana: paste your wallet and it finds everyone you're connected to through a work that's still being held.

On my own recordings it ranks the right preset 147th of 1,060.

Tried five explanations. None held.

Tried it on an ethereal, reverb-heavy piano. Got back a dry synth.

So I trained a small model on the 1,060 instrument previews that ship inside Live.

Presets it never saw, different notes: right 85% of the time. The spectrum: 47%.

And one call on shape: a keyboard sound comes back as an Instrument Rack. A guitar comes back as an effect rack for the track you recorded. Played or recorded decides the file.

The rack generator works. Two bugs I wouldn't have guessed.

Then I played it next to the original. Nothing like it. Not close.

Next try: measure the source and the target, fit an EQ between them.

Still learning to think of projects as smaller ones. What I like is moving between a game, something for music, something useful, week to week.

The sound translator is dropped as a product. The rack never sounded like the original.
