Our thoughts on this significant and poignant day, as always, are with all those affected by the tragedy at Hillsborough and we pause in memory of the 97 fans who will never be forgotten.
Greatness isn’t reaching the summit. It’s returning there. McIlroy just the fourth man to win back-to-back green jackets. But boy did he ride the Rory rollercoaster during that final round #TheMasters
Another utterly joyless performance by Liverpool. One of so many this season. Totally devoid of pace, passion or any real purpose. Spurs at their lowest ebb and LFC were oh so welcoming. Believers to doubters … enough already
@patmurphybbc@5liveSport What an innings, Pat. You’ll be sorely missed by those of us who can’t remember a time when you weren’t on the radio! I’ve always admired your originality, creativity and unwavering honesty: a great storyteller and a legendary voice in every sense. Enjoy your retirement
Switched across to @BBCRadioScot on 90 mins in the vain hope it would somehow change 🏴’s fortunes, and heard 8 mins of absolute commentary gold from @Alasdair_Lamont and @BBCSportScot from Hampden - have a listen: glorious, glorious 🙌 🏆 🏴
@kc_opinionated@TheMasters Haha. The Masters is very special and the patrons there are the antithesis of what we saw at Bethpage. Worlds apart. Hope you get to Augusta one day soon
Reflects very poorly on the American players that they are happy to stand by and listen to their own crowd abusing their opponents (and friends) when they’re lining up shots. These scenes with Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry do the #RyderCup no favours at all
@AaronSchiro@luvrvlife Aaron, that's a really poor take. But you're entitled to your opinion. Surely you understand the law of cause and effect? No abuse from crowd, no reaction from the players. Do people come to your work and shout personal abuse at you while you're trying to do your job? #RyderCup
@67PurpleJules Sadly Julie, he didn't. Keegan Bradley had multiple opportunities to call out the fans and the poor behaviour but hasn't done. Nor have any of the US players. Nor did the top brass at the PGA of America. Disappointing #RyderCup#RyderCup2025
