Brevity always a challenge -- love/angered by the Mets; enjoy the challenge of a good crossword; need newspapers, especially the Grey Lady; endlessly immature
@AnthonyHorowitz just heard you won’t be able to be at Bouchercon this year. I hope you and yours are well.
I’m sorry to have missed you in 2020 and again this year, but perhaps someday…
Best from a loyal reader and big fan of your excellent work.
@weeklyshowpod just listened to ep 1. I’m hooked! Brilliant guests and interesting ideas emerging from healthy discussion.
A useless Congress helps no one. We are doomed without a change.
Maybe a fact sheet on government output helps. Who makes it happen if not Congress?
@jaysonst@dougglanville
Seeing DJ LeMahieu and Jeff McNeil both struggling to stay above the Mendoza line had me wondering…
What is the biggest drop from a league leading BA that any former champion has suffered by the end of a later season?
Hope you answer on Starkville!
Tell Grandma she can’t retire?
No, @crampell - Grandma is probably already retired!
When SSA makes changes, they usually leave alone folks over 55 or 60.
Tell Mom and Dad that they wont be able to retire. That will get their attention and it is much more likely to be true.
Happiness, for this reader, is a new @AnthonyHorowitz novel in hand.
The lure of the beginnings of the plot, the charming banter between detective and, in this case, author/sidekick, and the looming murder.
I’ve flown through 25% of this enjoyment in a flash. 😬

@MayorPeoriaAZ tomorrow will be a great day to honor the excellent librarians and staff at the Sunrise Mountain Library, which had its official opening on 3/7/09.
The libraries are jewels in the city’s crown.
Hope to see you at Bravo Peoria! at the library on Saturday.
@MLBTV has done the opposite of good customer service in AZ.
Paying customers for @MLBTV have to pay again to get the DBacks games that the press releases say are now available for millions.
Uh, no - @MLBTV can do this because of customers like me.
What a ripoff!
Probably the most important story of the day, and the one that the FCC and Congress would be looking at closely, if they weren’t so toothless.

@londonwalks I wanted to thank tour guide Isabel - who resembled a younger Helen Mirren, with wit and excellent diction aside from remarkable flexibility and humor - for making our trip to St. Paul’s most worthwhile.
Your organization is a gift to travelers, with five stars!
@BabsVan for a future book club event at @firstdraftbar , I’m not sure there could be a more relevant book than “Mother Daughter Traitor Spy”, by the brilliant Susan Elia MacNeal.
Writing about LA and America of 1940, but she could be writing about today.
@utilityreporter@azcentral Just wait until the paper becomes a better deal in digital and you’ve got to give up the tactile experience of reading the physical paper, solving the puzzles.
If you think you feel old now…
@GlobeBobRyan Having the decision be based, by the judge, on precedents set in earlier NFL decisions is wrong. The arbitrator was hired, in part, because the league was doing a bad job of discipline for miscreants. Choosing a light sentence based on that bad job is a worse.
@emilypitek Kudos to you and that lucky lad! A dozen wonderful years, with many more ahead - a blessed life together is what all who know you wish for both of you, and for your whole family. Love to you, that tall guy and the wee ones from both of us. ❤️❤️❤️
@Jeopardy@KenJennings@missmayim@embassydavies Congrats on making the best and most suitable move! Two excellent hosts, who entertain this longtime fan (since the beginning, with Art Fleming and Don Pardo). Why change that?
Good luck to you all! And Davo should know that this MIB is continually impressed. Does Rog know?
@BabsVan Conversely, had to visit a hospital today and, lo and behold, free copies of today’s AZ Republic were available at the checkin desk. Granted, I was in the minority in taking one - hey, there are Sudoku inside! - but that is a nice gesture.
We are doomed without reliable news.
@adnansvirk@jaysonst@Kurkjian_ESPN That was beautiful, as was the wonderful speech.
I’ve only crossed paths once with the new HOFer.
At a preview of “42” during spring training, Tim slipped in as the lights dimmed. If he was here, this was big.
I’ll look for him in Peoria next spring. So deserving!
@BabsVan You can keep Darth Vader. Warner was evil personified in Time After Time in a terrifyingly brilliant performance.
Yet he was sweet and warm as Bob Crachit in an otherwise forgettable A Christmas Carol, with George C Scott as Scrooge.
All actors move up 2 spots today, sadly
