🌍 The @CBSSsecretariat is attending the Europe & Central Asia Regional Platform for #DisasterRiskReduction in Budva, Montenegro, from 6–8 November 2024. Bringing together 30 countries and key stakeholders, this event focuses on enhancing regional disaster resilience. A main agenda item is assessing progress on the #EFDRR Roadmap, a strategic plan guiding Europe towards reducing disaster risks by 2030, in alignment with the Sendai Framework’s goals.
Today, our DG, Gustav Lindstrom, participated in a ministerial roundtable focused on inclusive disaster risk management and a whole-of-society and all-hazards approach in light of increasing climate change induced risks. #CBSS contributed by practically translating the #SendaiFramework to the needs of the #BalticSeaRegion, highlighting successful initiatives such as mechanisms for children’s participation in #DRR and the NOVA volunteer network.
We also met with Kamal Kishore, Head of @UNDRR, to discuss potential joint collaboration in the areas of flooding and forest fires, exploring how CBSS can translate global policies into practice and use the Baltic Sea Region as a testing ground.

Our Director General, Gustav Lindström, was participating in the meeting of sub-regional intergovernmental organisations, hosted by @UNDRR at the Europe & Central Asia Regional Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction in Montenegro. The meeting aims to enhance understanding, identify synergies among sub-regional entities, and foster a networked approach to disaster risk reduction (DRR).
