@ronhenzel Such an emotional argument undermines the work of the Spirit and the Word. My presuppositions that were formulated over my Christian life and childhood did not hold up to the Word. Where arguments for DOG didn’t convince me, the Word did
@rootcausesleuth If dead in sin is only a metaphor then naturally, alive in Christ must only be a metaphor. This is problematic! Christ died to give life! Not from a metaphorical death.
@themendelbrain@OrdellSpivey If you can choose “the obedience of Jesus” why must Jesus be born of a virgin, live a sinless life, and rise from the grave? It seems like much of your argument is “do better.” The problem is that’s impossible. Only One has clean hands and a pure heart who has ascended Ps. 24
@Soteriology101 They lost peace with God due to unrighteousness and Adam’s sin effected all of His posterity so that death was passed to all men seeing that all have now a sinful nature. Therefore, the only way to restore peace with God is through the righteousness of Christ being credited to us
@EJohnson_07@EvanPaul05 Romans 3:10-11 says that none is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God. Unless the Spirit of God regenerates a dead heart, we are all left to our own desires which is to reject Christ.
@Trackman3@EvanPaul05 I am grateful that God is not fair! If He were fair, no one would have forgiveness of sin, redemption, and reconciliation! Rather God is gracious! He will save His people for His glory!
@wholeheart4god@JesusDied4UToo@WestonWoodsman I do hold to a distinction between Law and Gospel. When one blends those together it demands legalistic views. Our transformed life is by God’s grace for His glory, because of salvation. Not for salvation or even preservation.
@JesusDied4UToo@wholeheart4god@WestonWoodsman I’ve enjoyed chatting with you. If nothing else, it placed you on my mind so that I can pray for you, your family, and church. Good night and God bless you brother!
@JesusDied4UToo@wholeheart4god@WestonWoodsman Certainly we have been “saved to sin no more” and we have a heart of flesh that is now alive to the law so that we love the law and desire to keep His commandments. But it will not be perfected until heaven and we definitely don’t say our works are non negotiable to salvation.
@JesusDied4UToo@wholeheart4god@WestonWoodsman You stated that your position demands believers abide in Christ through their “active obedience.” Justification comes through Christ obedience whereby we are declared righteous. The gospel has been accomplished in Christ and His finished work alone. Not his righteous + ours!
@JesusDied4UToo@wholeheart4god@WestonWoodsman The only “active obedience” that declares us righteous before a holy God is the active obedience of Christ where He lived the life we could not live. If our understanding of salvation depends on our merits rather than Jesus’, we are hopeless.
@ThugLifeJMac @ApologiaStudios I would encourage you to work through Covenant Theology first. Getting a solid theological foundation will help you break free from dispensational theology so that you will find a resting place in either historical pre mil, amil, or post mill. God bless!
