It seems so trivial but this is a prime example of why Black & Brown people have a distrust of government. Shelley broke the law and our elected leaders bent over backwards and retroactively changed the law to free her. These are luxuries we just don't have.

As pride month ends, let’s not forget those who have and continue to make strides in the LGBTQ+ community. Many black LGBTQ+ people still do not feel safe in this world and BSU will continue to fight for the liberation, rights, and safety for them to feel accepted and loved.🏳️‍🌈
