The one and only time I ever voted for a Dem because I considered him the lesser of two bad choices. And he betrayed us. After promising to work across the aisle to represent all Alabamians, he voted in lock-step with the Dems. I for one have not forgotten. I don't see how many others apparently have, based on yard signs I've seen.
UPDATE for those keeping up with the eminent domain situation with Fenn Church. Since when is a for profit utility company a "Sovereign Power?" Alabama Power is so hell bent on taking his land, they are taking this to the AL Supreme Court. Pray for Fenn. Pls watch, and repost👇
@OBVISLEE@FreddyLA7 Do you think only the South had slaves? I had an ancestor in New York whose will mentioned his slaves, "both Negro and Indian." Not to mention most of the rest of the world.
@ClownWorld This is not the entire picture: it's a cropped version. The whole picture showed the girl in full and it was clear that she was wearing a white skirt and holding a pair of sneakers in her left hand. Some people look very, very hard to make everything racist.
I don’t know how to describe it but something about Fairhope feels so calm and peaceful. Every street is decorated with flowers, they’re playing relaxing music over speakers in downtown. If I ever become rich, I’ll move here and retire.
This is what school used to be before they turned it into a therapy session.
High school boys in Louisa County, Virginia spend months in auto shop fixing donated cars. Then they walk a single mama out to the bay, slap a bow on the hood, and hand her the keys.
No TED Talk.
No “lived experience” panel.
Just grease, wrenches, and a woman who can finally get her kids to school without begging a ride.
One mom said that car helped her get her child back.
Because showing up actually matters.
That’s not charity. That’s competence.
Boys learning a trade. A family getting off the edge. A community doing what government PowerPoints never will.
Keep the gender studies.
Give me the shop class. 💯
@Chicago1Ray@CommunityNotes@SenateGOP The community post puts the blame in the wrong place. The House has passed tons of bills that the Senate has not yet taken up. Thune and the Senate are the problem, not Johnson and the House.
@FreddyLA7 You need to get together with British Auburn Fan, who comes to a game every year! He could teach you some things about Auburn, and you could teach him some things about the South outside of Auburn!
Congratulations to our newest session of FBI National Academy graduates session 299 - represented by 265 law enforcement officials from around the country.
This session is historic - FBI was honored to be joined by one of the best supporters of law enforcement in the country - @Shaq - who graduated with this session and became an honorary FBI Special Agent.
It’s also the first time ever a National Academy session includes two FBI special agents - representing Pennsylvania and North Carolina - making our partnerships out in the field even stronger.
Congratulations to all - proud to serve alongside each of you. Mission first. 🇺🇸
@sahilkapur As an Alabamian, all I have to say is that she is doing exactly what we elected her to do. Represent the interests of Alabama and Republican values. The opinions of outsiders are irrelevant.
More than 7,500 American flags now cover Art Hill in St. Louis, transforming the landmark into a powerful tribute as the nation marks the 25th anniversary of 9/11.
Volunteers planted each flag across the hillside and attached tags honoring those killed in the terror attacks.
From above, thousands of flags fill the hill in red, white, and blue.
