Bitcoin transaction fees hit a record, exceeding $100 million
New data indicates that Bitcoin is leading among blockchain networks in terms of transaction fees for the past seven days or so.
Reflexivity's latest report indicates that the continued increase in Bitcoin transaction fees is notable, as it has recorded the highest cumulative figure of any blockchain network during this period, exceeding 100 million dollars.
This surge in mining revenue serves as a strong incentive for more miners to join the network by deploying additional machines, aiming to capture more of the transaction rewards.
On December 25, Bitcoin's hash rate reached a historic peak of 544 exahash per second (EH/s), up 130% from around 253 EH/s in January.
According to Reflexivity, this increase not only represents increased energy consumption to protect network security, but also reflects more efficient mining rig integration.
These upgrades produce higher hash output while requiring less energy, contributing to the overall efficiency of the mining process.
