@melissavcomedy ...so you might enjoy the experience even if you don't understand what anybody is saying. It's not just one person rambling into a microphone in front of a brick wall.
@melissavcomedy Namba Grand Kagetsu and Yoshimoto Manzai Theater are the two big venues. They're across the street from each other, near Namba Station. It's all in Japanese, of course, but Japanese comedy is skits and manzai (comedy duos, think the Smothers Brothers or Abbot & Costello)...
@CutForTime Hey Adam & @BenjaminAhr , this reminds me, have you seen the Voyager Animated Series video? It’s uncanny. I know you guys have Lucy in the chocolate factory amounts of NuTrek to deal with, but is this worth an emergency Greatest Discovery podcast?

@BenjaminAhr@CutForTime BTW, the actor who plays Vorik was also the Vulcan ensign on TNG Lower Decks, and reportedly the head canon in the Voyager writers room was that they were twins.
@BenjaminAhr I think Janeway smiled at the end because she knew she had thread the needle between ripping Neelix a new one and telling him without telling him he's a full member of the crew.
@CutForTime
@thehighsign @Ted_Scheinman This exactly. A lot of ppl are saying Kevin Costner in Robin Hood, but I think that's the canonical example of a separate category: Can't Be Bothered (along w/Connery in Hunt for Red October).
Not the worst ever but Branagh's American accent in Dead Again is low-key terrible.
@CutForTime@Jasonfinn Japanese-fluent Friend of DeSoto here: Not surprisingly, that's a direct translation of what you say in Japanese to be faux cocky (or actually cocky). Something like "all day every day" would be natural English.
@HirokoTabuchi Also not the point but I've wondered for literally 20 years how that fruit stand next to Studio Alta can possibly stay in business, given what the rent must be.
