@WhistleblowingT Recently I’ve been doing 8:15 - 3:45 as I tutor after school. What people don’t see is me working from 5:30 - 7:15 most mornings from home & working half a day at the weekend. Don’t be quick to judge.
I’ve decided to volunteer at Thornberry Animal Sanctuary in #sheffield to help care for dogs/cats desperately looking for a caring home. I’m also collecting #donations if you’d like to help a great cause. 🎁🙏🏻 https://t.co/0NOQTrJgME #loveanimals#support#pets
@smithsmm I already set off at 6:30am and don’t get in until 7pm. Then have dinner & at least 3 times a week work until 10pm. If the school day is extended until 6pm then that means I wont get home until 7:30pm & will be marking until at least 11pm. 🤦🏻♀️
“@GavinWilliamson we are not fooled by your ‘pay pause’. Let’s call it out for what it is – a pay cut. A pay cut for the professionals who you relied upon to educate the nation’s pupils and low pay for support staff, who kept pupils safe, fed, and connected." @cyclingkev#NEU21
@dhanecha68 @ChrisWardle77 They also need systems in place for when its more than a child just not being engaged. This isn’t always the reason. We have children who fight and smash windows because they know nothing meaningful will happen as a result and that the teachers have little power.
@ChrisWardle77 I completely agree with this. As a teacher, there’s only so much I can do to manage behaviour without effective and consistent systems being put in place by SLT. Quite often, teachers are left to it with no input or involvement from SLT at all.
@Galaxyblue27@NEUnion I’m also not saying don’t open schools. I’m saying be a bit more sensible about how you do it & actually learn from your mistakes by listening to the people who work in that environment every single day.
@Galaxyblue27@NEUnion Also, as soon as I leave the classroom I wear a mask and have to social distance from other adults (who I rarely see in school these days now due to staggered breaks). So I’d say it’s highly unlikely I didn’t catch it from a child.
I’m a doctor, and I am incredibly worried that @BorisJohnson isn’t going to release lockdown 🔐 carefully
Those of us who are worried need to make our voices heard 📣
If you want the government to listen to experts 👩🔬 and release lockdown carefully to safeguard lives 💙, RT🌟
@JanisPennance @Strickomaster @DonnaBa65325376 How? They wear masks and have screens? I taught face to face ONE day last week & have managed to catch COVID. One day with 11 children. Haven’t been anywhere else. Keep telling yourself schools are safe if it makes you feel better.
So @GavinWilliamson says primaries are to start testing staff on Monday.
Today is Wednesday and unless I’ve missed something there’s been:
No guidance
No tests delivered
No training
No wider communication
Therefore, there will be:
No chance of getting this going by Monday.
@EssexSmoggy My class LOVE David Walliams and if it encourages them to read more/promotes a love for reading, I’m all for reading his books to my class! Surely it’s about adapting to the children’s needs and interests? What’s he point in reading them a “quality” book they don’t enjoy? 🤦🏻♀️🤔
