There is a git command called “git request-pull” that would format an email that you could send to a mailing list saying “instead of me sending an email patch series, here is a public endpoint you can pull from to test my series”. We turned “request a pull” into a “Pull Request”
@LadyDemosthenes Sort of the same thing happened with stone fruit, actually.
I remember peaches and plums and nectarines being actually enjoyable.
Now they're almost always rock-hard, flavorless kitchen sponges.
(Unless you let them ripen til soft, then they're flavorless stringy Jello.)
@EudaimoniaEsq It's not just French that we Ohioans take liberties with:
Mie-luhn (Milan)
Roo-shee (Russia)
Lie-mah (Lima) -- though this at least matches the bean
@LadyDemosthenes I actually just a couple of months ago attempted my from-scratch scones GF, and they weren't too bad! If my research is right, for the next attempt I need to cut in 20% cornstarch into the GF all-purpose flour mix....
@LadyDemosthenes There are some really amazing gluten-free things out there, and even some really good GF cake donuts, but one thing I've yet to find is even an *attempt* at a GF yeast donut.
The voices of #oss maintainers are critical to listen to in the wake of #xz. These folks are the ones who are standing between technology consumers and cybersecurity attacks.

@LadyDemosthenes @pissfinger See, now you've found the way to inspire him to new heights of creativity.
Start creeping the bedtime announcement earlier a few minutes at a time, and let the poetical juices flow longer and longer each night! 🤩
@Andrew_S_Rosen I saw you starred the cleanlab project on Github a few weeks ago... might be interested in this event we're hosting with Jonas Mueller from Cleanlab the company.
Coming up next month, @jomulr, @CleanlabAI Co-Founder and Chief Scientist, will delve into the meaning of the term ‘data-centric AI.’ What is it, and how is it different from ‘machine learning’?

I really enjoyed this conversation with @bbelderbos and @juliansequeira, and the topic (impostor syndrome) is a really important one, especially for open source projects and communities.
Follow the @pybites feed for more of these clips!
#developers and imposter syndrome ...
We all have it and that's ok!
Remember, real imposters don't have imposter syndrome.
Last week we talked about this on an @openteamsinc event, providing some guidance and tips.
The recording is on YouTube now ...
Indeed -- the power of generative AI makes it *more* important, not less, to ensure that these technologies are developed in the open.
We're looking forward to working with @IBM and the other members of the AI Alliance to support a robust open AI ecosystem.
Don't miss this conversation next Tuesday!
Cybersecurity has been in the news a lot lately, with a number of high-profile breaches coming to light. Austin and Nathan will have a lot of good info to share.
