I remember when The Weeknd said he was done with the Grammys, but I swear I don't remember this barrage of news coverage. Like there are hundreds of articles about BTS (and they keep coming), along with news coverage, and the main concern is the economic impact. Commercial air time is priced based on engagement. BTS brings millions perhaps even billions of raw engagement. So, that one statement from BTS is potentially millions maybe even billions of dollars of revenue LOST–and EVERYONE knows it.
2013 BTS and ARMY never saw this coming on our bingo cards.
When Namjoon said, "We'll find a way, and if there's no way, we'll draw the map again." HE MEANT THAT ISH!
I just listened European pop with meaningful lyrics with their native language and I'm little sad that they don't have own category where they can shine🥹
@TiggyWinkle22@readonlyshan@UMG Bro, PR team must be hitting their heads against the wall after her rant 🤣 first thing ANY PR team says to you when you reach the higher end of the hierarchy is very simple: shut up unless we tell you to be a spokesperson (and that person varies every time)

We condemn violence.
You, I and we all have the right to be respected. We will stand together.

Under these new rules, a song like My Universe could be changed from pop duo/group to Asian Pop. BWL, which should’ve been…gets moved to Asian Pop. Basically to have a song stick for pop duo, it needs to be fully in English or not enough Korean to be “Asian”. Otherwise, Asian pop. This is why their stance matters. And yes, committees can change where a song is categorized.
Imagine that at your workplace there was an employee of the month, a black employee of the month, a Latino employee of the month, and an Asian employee of the month... I think that makes more sense now.
adele is not american yet she beat beyonce in 2017. why didn’t they make a british grammy for her ? why did they make a traditional country category when beyonce won? “asian” is even not a genre and it’s not just limited to kpop. segregating music by ethnicity is fucking WEIRD
"When BTS achieves something, they say the success belongs to Kpop.
When BTS refuses to participate in segregation, they say it is between Grammys and BTS.
No wonder they have yet to find the next BTS."
I agree, have you seen the 7 sets of balls our boys have?
